Project Background
The Coast Dairies and Land Company (CDLC) hired RRM to perform a Phase I Environmental Site Assessment (ESA) in order to identify potential environmental conditions on a 5500-acre unincorporated tract of land near Davenport, CA, prior to its possible transfer of parcels to the Bureau of Land Management, California State Parks, and a nonprofit agriculture group.
Solutions Provided by RRM
RRM's tasks in the course of completing this Phase I included the following:
- Site reconnaissance of the 5500-acre, multi-parcel site
- Complete records review of documents at the Santa Cruz County Department of Environmental Health, aerial photographs, and historical topographic maps
- Interviews with the manager of the property and tenants in order to determine current and previous site uses and possible hazardous waste practices
- Preparation of a report presenting information collected, findings, and conclusions
- Additional tasks including drinking water sampling and lead paint sampling.
