Mr. Gyrion has twelve years of professional experience working as a geologist in a variety of disciplines, including hydrogeology, environmental geology, and mineral exploration geology. Mr. Gyrion has managed various projects relating to retail UST sites, bulk plants, fuel terminals, semiconductor-related sites, active and inactive landfills, military bases, and power plants. He has performed all levels of work on numerous retail underground storage tank (UST) sites for several major oil companies in California, Arizona, Alaska, and Nevada. He has considerable experience in the design and installation of A, B, and C level aquifer wells, conductor-cased wells, groundwater monitoring wells, leachate wells, soil and groundwater extraction wells, air sparging wells, and dual-completion air sparging/soil vapor extraction wells. His work has also contributed in defining several ore deposits in Nevada, Oregon and Idaho using mapping, sampling, surveying, laboratory, and reporting skills. Representative projects include:

Managed and performed assessment, cleanup and closure activities of various solid waste management units located at a power plant in Moss Landing, California. Activities included magnetometer, ground-penetrating radar, and electromagnetic surveys; excavation and handling of asbestos and buried waste; excavation of soils containing PCBs, metals, and various organic hydrocarbons.
Managed cleanup at several marine bulk fuel terminals and retail facilities in Alaska for a major oil company. Project management duties included regulatory, multiple responsible parties, and resident liaison, budget management, workplan preparation, implementation of soil and groundwater investigations, soil and groundwater remediation, risk assessment support, hydrogeologic and tidal influence studies, data evaluation, report preparation, and closure negotiations.
Managed over 50 UST sites in Arizona for a major oil company as part of fast-track assessments prior to property transfers. Over a 5-month period, work included the management of 5 staff geologists to implement all aspects of site soil and groundwater assessment.
Supervised location of unexploded ordnance via magnetometer surveys; data evaluation and presentation for a military installation in Benicia, CA.
Performed all project management aspects of soil and groundwater assessments at inactive and active semiconductor facilities in the Santa Clara Valley, California.
